If any of the following apply to you:
You can check whether you may qualify to receive financial or other support by using the Gov.uk benefit adviser|.
Please note that for a Local Council Tax Reduction calculation it would help to have details of your council tax liability, for your address, to hand. It is best to use your council tax account or you may wish to check your council tax gross amount| by searching using your postcode.
The gross amount will not have considered any discounts|, exemptions| or reductions for people with disabilities| which is why it is better to use any liability from your council tax bill.
For housing benefit calculations you should have the maximum eligible rent which is either your net rent after support costs and ineligible rents if you are a housing association tenant, or your local housing allowance| rate applicable to your circumstances and your address.
In all circumstances it would help if you had your last two monthly pay slips (or five weekly pay slips), any pension details, and details of any other pension or income available.
You should always assume that the calculated amount is an estimate, and no decisions should be made on the amounts estimated without consulting the Housing Benefit & Local Council Tax Reduction office for confirmation. For example the calculator will calculate a new tax credits amount which may be different to the actual amount that you receive, and consequently affect your entitlement to either housing benefit and/or Local Council Tax Reduction.
The benefits adviser| checks a number of benefits and tax credits you may be eligible to receive.
