The government has made many changes to benefits recently and this may mean you face financial difficulty. Because of this Bournemouth Borough Council has set up the Local Welfare Assistance Fund to help residents who may be experiencing financial difficulty.
Bournemouth Borough Council may be able to help:
Please contact the Council’s Housing Options Team. Email them| or give them a call on 01202 451467 to book an appointment. If you’re unsure about how they can help, visit the housing section for further information.
The main thing to remember is to ACT EARLY and ACT QUICKLY. If you can give us as much accurate information as you can we’ll have more chance of helping you. Please contact the Housing Options Team as a priority. The team will support you and, if you’re eligible, you could receive financial help towards a deposit for your rent.
You may be eligible through the Local Welfare Assistance Fund for help. The quickest (and easiest) way to apply is to do it online. In addition to providing financial help we can offer you advice and information about other forms of support, such as money management advice and budgeting information.
Apply as soon as possible and the fund may be able to arrange for household items or services to be provided or you’ll receive a pre-paid card or voucher to use. Alternatively you should contact the Bournemouth Citizen’s Advice Bureau| for further help, call them on 08444 111444 or read their section for more information.
