Lost & Found Property

Taxis

The owners or drivers of taxis are required, to hand property left in the vehicle to the Council.

Items found in taxis are handed into the Customer Services Centre, in St Stephen’s Road.

 

The receiving Customer Service Advisor will:

  • Check if a ‘lost property’ report has been made by the owner
  • Where possible contact the owner to let them know their property has been found.
  • Store found property securely for up to 3 months*

*Items of identification, such as passport or driving licence, will be returned to the issuing authority at the end of the working day.

 

If you have lost an item in a taxi, contact the Customer Services Office on 01202 451199 or visit The Customer Services Centre|.

 

The Customer Service Advisor will:

  • Check to see if your property has been handed in.
  • Make a lost property report, so you can be contacted, if your property is handed in.
  • If your item has been found, they will let you know how to reclaim your property.

Bournemouth Borough Council does not have a general lost property department.
