If life is in danger or a crime is in progress dial 999 and ask for Dorset Police.

 

In the event of a major incident the Council will work with the Emergency Services and will have three main objectives:

• To support the work of the Emergency Services
• To care for the community
• To restore the environment

Depending on the type of incident this could involve:

• Providing road diversions and traffic management 
• Providing emergency works on buildings or in areas affected by flooding
• Providing emergency care and welfare for the community
• Providing specialist advice on environmental and pollution issues

Civil Contingencies Act 2004:

Under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004, the Council has a statutory duty to work with the Emergency Services and other organisations in planning for emergencies.

The Council is a member of the Bournemouth & Poole Resilience Group |(BPRG)
