Bournemouth Borough Council is a founding member of the BH Continuity Forum| (BHCF). The BHCF is a group of businesses and organisations wanting to help promote resilience in Bournemouth. Under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004, the Council has a statutory duty to work with other emergency responders in planning for emergencies and to provide business continuity advice to businesses and voluntary organisations.
There is a legal duty, under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004, for organisations that form part of the Bournemouth, Dorset and Poole LRF to produce a Community Risk Register. The purpose of the Community Risk Register is to assess the risk of an emergency occurring in the LRF area, and to develop plans and responses to reduce these risks, as well as informing the public that this is taking place.
