Neighbourhood Recycling Centres

Find out where your nearest recycling banks are across Bournemouth

*Important Update*

As residents can now recycle a wide range of materials in their kerbside recycling bin, we have decided  to remove the recycling banks at our neighbourhood recycling centres for glass, plastic bottles, cans, foil and paper. Residents will still be able to recycle textiles and/or small electricals at most of the sites.

The Big Bin Little Bin scheme has been so successful in allowing residents to recycle from their doorstep that the number of people using the neighbourhood recycling centres has really dropped off.

We also experience problems at most of the sites with contamination, fly-tipping and misuse by commercial traders, who should be paying to dispose of their waste.

We have arranged with our contractor to begin removing these banks from 24 October 2016.

A full list of locations and materials accepted can be found below. In addition, household items can be taken to Millhams Community Recycling Centre in Ringwood Road, Kinson or Christchurch Household Recycling Centre at Wilverley Road.

From 31st January 2017, the recycling centre at Palmerston Road will be moved to Hawkwood Road car park 1 (next to the library) due to closure for development.
