Outset Bournemouth offers free training programmes for people interested in starting a business or becoming self employed and also provide advice and support for existing companies wishing to grow their business within Bournemouth. Our programme helps people living in Bournemouth to start their own business.


Thanks to being fully funded by Bournemouth Borough Council, The European Regional Development Fund and JP Morgan, we are completely free to use. We offer a range of options including information sessions, one-to-one support, business start-up workshops and help with accessing finance.

The Prince's Trust Enterprise Programme

The Prince’s Trust Enterprise Programme offers support to unemployed 18 to 30-year-olds to start up in business.  For more information, please visit:|


WSX Enterprise

Based in Poole, delivered the Business Link contract in Dorset prior to the governments national restructuring of the service, and continue to provide training courses and advice for those starting in business.


The 2 day ‘New in Business’ course focuses on the key issues that are fundamental to the success of any new business. Courses are held monthly at both Bournemouth and Poole College campuses and cover:

  • Business Planning & Regulations
  • Sales & Marketing
  • Finance & Accounts

Dormen - Dorset Business Mentoring

The Dorset Mentoring Programmehas been established to provide one-to-one mentoring support for new businesses throughout Dorset.  Dormen business mentors are experienced in setting up and running their own businesses and can help small developing businesses find solutions to the problems and difficulties they face.
