Consumer Advice

For free, independent, confidential and impartial advice on consumer issues visit www.adviceguide.org.uk| or call the Citizens Advice consumer helpline on 03454 040506.  They are the national body that collates information for Trading Standards and the Office of Fair Trading.

Telephone calls are charged for via the 0845 number, which will cost around 6p per minute for BT customers (other networks vary).

The service operates from 09:00 - 17:00 Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays.

Advisers are trained in all aspects of consumer rights and help people to take the best course of action when they have a consumer problem by giving legally correct advice. They do not intervene in consumer matters, such as taking action against a trader. However where a criminal matter is identified they will pass the information to us, as your local Trading Standards Service, to investigate.

Trader and consumer guidance is also available from Trading Standards Central|
