Enrolling on a course

First choose the course or courses that you would like to take. A course information sheet will help you with this decision – find one on our course search facility| or telephone 01202 262300 and request one.

 

Check the information below to see if you may be entitled to a discount or a free course. In all these cases you will be required to present evidence of eligibility at the time of enrolment.

If you are not claiming a discount or free course you can enrol by:

• Visiting www.webenrol.com/skillsandlearning (card payments only) - new this year.
• Telephoning 01202 262331 for qualification courses that do not require attendance at an information session.
• Completing the enrolment form above (please complete both sides) and taking it, with payment, to an enrolment centre.
• Completing the enrolment form above (please complete both sides) and posting it with payment to Skills&Learning, FREEPOST (SWB21126) Poole BH15 3BF (No cash or card details by post please).
• Cheques should be made payable to Borough of Poole.
• Telephoning 01202 262300 for leisure courses or information sessions

If you require an English, Maths or ESOL class please telephone 01202 262305 to arrange a skills check and information session.

Where and when to enrol

The Oakdale Centre at Wimborne Road, Poole BH15 3DL, is open every weekday from 09:00 until 17:00, excluding bank holidays.

Pricing and discounts

• All discounts are subject to residency within the EU for the last three years.
• FF indicates the full fee where a government subsidy is not available.
• SF indicates the price for courses that include a government subsidy for all learners.
• AF indicates the price that may be payable after a benefit related discount.
• ATLL indicates the price for holders of an Access to Leisure and Learning card.
• For course starting with PN free places are available to volunteers working for voluntary and community organisations registered with Skills&Learning and those who are unemployed and seeking employment.

Only one discount is available per course.

• If you receive JSA or ESA (Work Related Activity Group) it is likely that you will be entitled to a free qualification course.
• If you receive a means tested benefit and are seeking employment it is likely that you will be entitled to a free qualification course.
• If you hold an Access to Leisure and Learning card you are entitled to a discount on leisure courses that show the ATLL logo in the course title.

All Employer related courses are priced according to circumstances.

 

Special Requirements

It is essential that you tell us about your needs and any special requirements during the enrolment process. This enables us to make arrangements and to avoid making commitments we are unable to keep.

Details will be treated in confidence and will not be given to others without your permission.

A decision will be made about course viability 5 working days before the first session. All learners enrolled on a course which has been cancelled will be contacted and offered a transfer to a similar course or a refund.

Learners who attend the first session of a course and find it is not suitable for them must request a transfer to another class or a refund BEFORE the start of the second session of the course.

An appropriate proportion of fees may be refunded in the following circumstances:

A class is closed due to low attendance and/or where the number of learners does not justify continuation of the class at the discretion of Skills&Learning, Bournemouth and Poole|

For medical reasons; a learner must supply a medical certificate or letter from their Doctor.
