Admissions to School 2012/13

Admission arrangements for 2012-2013 for all maintained schools in Bournemouth have now been determined. Admission policies for all the schools in Bournemouth are available on this website for your information.

Please note a copy of the School Admission Code is available for reference at http://www.dcsf.gov.uk/sacode| and you will need to read the revised Admission Code. If you wish you can confirm which catchment schools are appropriate for an individual address at http://www.bournemouth.gov.uk/Residents/MyProperty| . Alternatively a Bournemouth catchment map is available from the Children’s Information Service, Bournemouth Borough Council Customer Services, Town Hall, St Stephen’s Road, Bournemouth BH2 6DY and you may view this on request.

Copies of all the policies are also available to read in the Children’s Information Service, Bournemouth Borough Council Customer Services, Town Hall, St Stephen’s Road, Bournemouth BH2 6DY between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday, excluding Bank holidays.

Changes concerning entry to Reception Year in September 2012

Please note the following changes in relation to Reception class provision for September 2012:

Bournemouth Council and Schools, after having finalised arrangements for entry to the Reception Year in September 2012, made an application to the Schools’ Adjudicator to amend those arrangements. The proposed amendment sought to increase the Admission Number of certain schools in the Borough, to further take account of the expected rise in pupil numbers for the upcoming year group. The Council has now received a response from the Adjudicator, confirming that the amended arrangements have been agreed. Please note, therefore, that the Admission Numbers for the following schools will be changed:

 

Kinson Primary School

The published admission number of 60 will be increased to 90 for the September 2012 intake.

 

Pokesdown Community Primary School

The published admission number of 60 will be increased to 90 for the September 2012 intake.

 

St Walburga’s Catholic Primary School

The published admission number of 60 will be increased to 90 for the September 2012 intake.

The admission numbers of all other schools within Bournemouth will remain as originally published. The published admission policies for all Bournemouth schools likewise remain as published.
