On 25 July, Meyrick Park hosted the Bournemouth Family Festival for the fourth year. Over 31,000 people visited the park during the day. They were entertained by our headline act Stavros Flately who wooed the crowd with a high energy performance. They were joined by resident entertainers Dame Kitty and the Rubyz crew along with Mr Merlin and Okey Dokey the Dragon.
Local bands and young people showcase the amazing talent that Bournemouth young people have to offer.
The Bournemouth Family Festival is run by Bournemouth Borough Council, in partnership with Rotary Clubs of Westbourne, Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole and Wareham. This years event was sponsored by Absolute Music, Getting About, Green Goals, Mouchel, LV=, Rubyz, Semcorp,Tesco, Wave 105, Zorba’s Restaurant.
The Rotary Club of Westbourne along with volunteers from other local clubs in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole were on hand to provide food to the visitors. Proceeds from the sale of the food raised £4000 which will be donated to the Lewis Manning Hospice and other local charities supported by Rotary Clubs.
We would like to extend our thanks to all the volunteers that supported the festival.
