Statutory Boards
Statutory Boards

There are six Statutory Boards carrying out the Council’s legal duties.  These are:

  • Appeals Board – dealing with appeals relating to a whole range of the Council’s duties, including education, care for the elderly and housing tenants.
  • Licensing and Gambling Board - considers all licensing applications under the Licensing Act 2003  and the Gambling Act 2005
  • Licensing General Board – considers all other licensing matters not covered by the Licensing Act 2003. 
  • Personnel (JCC) Board - helps the Council to be a good employer.
  • Planning Board - deals with all the Council’s duties as a planning authority.
  • Standards Board - promotes high standards of ethical conduct by Members of the Council and hears complaints into alledged breaches of the Code of Conduct.
