The Corporate Plan

A Fresh Start

The new Conservative administration elected on 3 May 2007 has brought the opportunity to referesh Council Priorities and shape a new vision for Bournemouth, together with our partners in the public, prviate and voluntary sectors.

Our Corporate Plan Update sets out five clear priorities for action by the Council:

  • Improving our environment
  • Better planning
  • Tackling crime
  • Community action
  • Efficient Council

More information can be found in the Corporate Plan.

Best Value Performance Plan 2007/08

The Plan includes the national best value performance indicators which are set by the government on an annual basis.  The most up to date performance for the year 2007/08 is shown alongside previous performance,  comparative data (top 25% of local authorities) and explanations.  This information will be audited by District Audit between July and September 2008.

In 2006/07 we conducted the 3 yearly user satisfaction surveys and the results are included in the Best Value Performance Plan.  More detailed information can be found here.

In April 2005 the Council identified a set of service improvement priorities that reflected the issues that matter most in our community.  The table provides a backward look at our progress against these priorities and idenitifies where more still needs to be achieved.

We are currently in the process of preparing our draft Corporate Plan 2008/09.  The first draft will be considered by Cabinet on the 18th June 2008.
