Equality Working Groups
The working groups have been established to develop best practice across Bournemouth Borough Council. From this the groups will make suggestions regarding improvements on a corporate scale and update employees on requirements that fall under the various legislation imposed by Central Government.
EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY STRATEGY GROUP
This group oversees equality and diversity work across the council and deals with any issues that are raised by the working groups.
RACE EQUALITY WORKING GROUP
Terms of Reference
Its aims are to enable the Council to comply with the Race Relations (amendment) Act 2000 and develop good practice in areas of relevance to Black and Minority Ethnic Communities.
DISABILITY WORKING GROUP
Terms of Reference
Its aims are to enable the Council to comply with the Disability Discrimibation Act 1995 and to develop good practice in areas of relevance to disabled people.
GENDER EQUALITY WORKING GROUP

Its aims are to enable the Council to comply with the Sex Discrimination Act 1975 and to develop good practice on all gender related issues.
SEXUAL ORIENTATION WORKING GROUP
Terms of Reference
To assist the Council in creating an inclusive, open and affirming workplace culture that acknowledges and respects diversity with regards to Sexual Orientation.
