The Gateway process is Bournemouth Council's project management methodology based on Office of Government Commerce (OGC) PRINCE2 managing successful projects model.  It includes a step by step route that all projects over £5k must go through.

The Executive Gateway Board of senior managers approve and monitor all projects over £25k or those requiring funding. The board examines projects at key decision points in their lifecycle to provide the council with confidence that it is selecting the right projects aligned with corporate priorities and is getting them right. The board considers investment requested for all projects and ensures resources are directed to priority projects. The process provides a clear and transparent audit trail.
