The Electoral Registration Officer of Bournemouth Borough Council is Tony Williams|, the Chief Executive. His statutory obligations with regard to the annual Register of Electors are carried out by staff in the Electoral Services Office.
The Register is currently available for inspection at the Town Hall, Bournemouth and also some Branch Libraries| in the borough. Under new Regulations, inspection must be supervised and copies are not permitted to be taken other than by handwritten means.
On average, some 40,000 amendments have to be made to existing computer records in compiling the annual register.
There are in excess of 86,000 households included in the register and a separate registration form has to be delivered to every one of them annually; it is usually necessary also to send out approximately 20,000 reminder forms.
