There are 54 democratically elected Councillors in Bournemouth across 18 wards (three Councillors per ward). Councillors represent their local community at the council, often campaigning for improvements in their ward on behalf of residents and business owners. Area Forums

 

Run by residents and supported by Ward Councillors, Area Forums are more than just a talking shop. They provide the opportunity to:

 

• Advise the council and other public service providers on issues that affect your area.
• Have a say on new community initiatives in your neighbourhood.
• Raise issues of local concern or contention with representatives from the public services such as the police, Primary Care Trust and council.

 

There are 11 forums serving local communities across Bournemouth. You don't need to have any experience with community work or in local government; if you're from the particular area your forum serves, you're more than welcome!
