BOURNEMOUTH LEUKAEMIA FUND
Registered Charity: 290340
The Bournemouth Leukaemia Fund (BLF) was set up in 1984 by Professor Terry Hamblin and
Dr David Oscier, and support from patients, their families and friends, and the local community has played a vital role in funding their research.
The Haematology Department in Royal Bournemouth Hospital has gained an international reputation for its research into the causes and treatment of leukaemia, and other blood cancers. This research increasingly improves the survival and quality of life of patients locally and worldwide, however is costly to conduct. The charity aims to support local research into the cause, diagnosis, natural history and treatment of patients with the illness.
In the current economic climate, we rely more than ever on donation to BLF to supplement research grants and we are grateful for all local support.
