Changing the pattern of the school year
Last year across Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset parents, schools and organisations were invited to give initial views on proposals to change to a Standard School Year. The consultation showed that there was a great deal of support for changing to a Standard School. Dorset County Council has decided in favour of changing but will not change if we and Poole disagree. Bournemouth Council will be making a decision for Bournemouth in September 2007. When they do, we feel it is very important that they know what it would mean for young people in Bournemouth and for us as a borough. You can view or download the Information on the Standard School Year document here. (pdf)
