Millhams Community Recycling Centre is Bournemouth's Civic Amenity Site and is accessed via the A348 Ringwood Road at Longham (Sat nav BH11 9LQ. Site entrance is just before the bridge over the Stour if coming from the Bournemouth direction).
Waste which is taken to Millhams is reused, recycled or composted, instead of going to landfill. The site features colour coded signage for the different waste areas to make visits easier for residents.
Proof of Bournemouth residency is required for entry into Millhams. Your proof of residency can be a Bournemouth Council Tax statement or photo-card driving licence.
Millhams is open:
8am - 7pm from April 1 - October 31
8am - 5pm from November 1 - March 31
Please note the site will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.

Should you require help during your visit please ask an attendant who will be happy to assist you, provided it is safe to do so.
Please adhere to safety guidance given by signs and site staff at all times. Children and pets must remain in the vehicle at all times.
Please note that vans, trucks, lorries or any other vehicle which is not a domestic/family car will not be allowed entry into Millhams. However a residential permit scheme is running for those residents who have a van as their only mode of transport so they can dispose of your domestic waste. To be eligible to apply for a permit, you must be able to meet the following criteria:

East Dorset residents living in the areas of Ferndown, St Leonard’s, St Ives, Three Legged Cross, Wimborne, Verwood, Longham, West Parley and Stapehill can now have unlimited access to the site as long as they bring their Council Tax bill with them. This replaces the voucher scheme which had been in place previously.
Millhams Community Recycling Centre can now take trade waste for disposal on a paid-for basis.
