A design put forward by Bournemouth Parks team will be on display at one of the biggest garden shows in the world this summer.
‘A Very Victorian Fantasy’ will celebrate the story of Bournemouth’s Victorian history and heritage and preparations have already begun to ensure that it is ready to display at the Royal Horticultural Society Hampton Court Palace Flower Show in the category of Show Garden, this coming July. The team, headed up by Landscape Manager David Ifould and Nursery Manager Chris Evans will be working with apprentices and local volunteers to polish the design and grow top quality plants. A variety of partners and sponsors are giving financial assistance to the bid including Mouchel Ltd, The Landscape Group Ltd, and local construction company GR Westbuild Ltd.
Being selected for the show is a real privilege for the Council team, and follows on from recent success with their Gothic flowerbed design exhibited at last year’s RHS National Flowerbed Competition at Tatton Park, winning a coveted RHS Gold medal, Best Exhibit in Show and the highly prestigious RHS Wigan Cup.
The garden will be on display at RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show from 3-8 July and you will be able to see the garden for yourself when it returns to Bournemouth’s Lower Gardens in mid-July.
