RECORDING AND MONITORING

Records will be kept of FOIA, DPA and EIR access requests.  This does not include requests for information publicly available (i.e., “readily accessible by other means”).  Records will be maintained for the purposes of:-

*  tracking and monitoring requests and ensuring compliance with the relevant legislation;

*  providing an audit trail of how requests have been dealt with and responded to;

*  ensuring consistency in the application of exemptions and, where applicable, the public interest test;

*  supplying management information for future planning purposes in respect of dealing with requests for information.

If the decision is taken to either partially or wholly refuse to release information requested a fully documented record of the reasons/exemptions that are applicable must be retained.
