Residents in the Muscliff area are invited to a free family fun day at Muscliff Park, Shillingstone Drive, on Sunday 20th July 2008.
There will be plenty of fun to be had from 11am – 4pm with a variety of displays and performances including; Dancing by S & J Dance Studio, cheerleading by Twist Dance Academy and a karate demonstration by local Karate Group Gary Excell. There will also be dancing and performances by local young people from Bournemouth Youth Service. A Boredom Busters play area for the little ones, football coaching by AFC Bournemouth, a BSM driving stimulator as well as a special appearance from Dame Kitty Glitter will also be on hand to keep dullness at bay.
The park will be lined with stalls from more than 20 groups and organisations exhibiting and selling amongst others books, pictures, crafts and cakes. And there will be various games and a bouncy castle for the children and a refreshments area.
The fun day is being organised by Throop and Muscliff Councillors in partnership with the Youth Centre, Countryside and Parks Team, Dorset Police, Youth Service, Sports Development Officer and the Safer and Stronger Communities Team.
Councillor Anne Rey, Throop and Muscliff ward councillor, who helped organised the event said: “I am delighted with the support and enthusiasm that we (organising committee) have gotten from various groups across the borough especially as this is the first family fun day. I hope residents will turn up in large numbers to have a wonderful day in the park.”
Councillor David Smith, Bournemouth Borough Council’s portfolio holder for community, said: “The council is committed to staging first-class events and this fun day certainly falls into that category. The organising committee has outdone itself and should be commended for the effort they have put into organising this event.”
