Seeds of Change: ‘The Earth Charter And Human Potential’
- An exhibition coming to Bournemouth Library

An exhibition coming to Bournemouth Library this summer will highlight the individual difference we can each make to help sustain the environment.

The Seeds of Change exhibition, which takes place at Bournemouth Central Library from June 20-30, focuses on sustainable development and the role that education plays in protecting the planet. A number of events will take place alongside the main exhibition such as an interfaith dialogue and a talk and discussion on the Earth Charter initiative.

The exhibition is being presented by Soka Gakkai International-UK Dorset (SGI) in association with IDEA: Interfaith Dorset Education and Action, Faith Links and Bournemouth and Poole Borough Councils.

Councillor Robert Lawton Bournemouth Borough Council’s Cabinet member for Environment and Transport said: “The council enjoys a very positive working relationship with faith groups and recently signed the environmental good practice pledge the ‘Earth Charter’. Events like the Seeds of Change exhibition will help us to continue to strengthen our community awareness and engagement in local environmental sustainability.”

Jack Horwood, a local leader within Soka Gakkai, said:  “The exhibition is an opportunity for people to see how individuals have made huge positive impressions on their immediate environment. The planet is undergoing rapid change and all of us have to accept responsibility for making a contribution towards preventing any unnecessary deterioration."
