Reef update - Work continues on surf reef

Following a meeting in Bournemouth last week (21 October 2011) with Mr Nick Behunin, ASR’s Managing Director, Bournemouth Council has confirmed work will continue on repairing the damage caused to the reef from a third party boat strike.

Tony Williams, Executive Director of Environment & Economy, said; “We had a most productive meeting with Mr Behunin and ASR have confirmed their commitment to continuing to undertake the repair work to the reef.  ASR have assured us that the team will be out on site at the next available weather opportunity and will continue to work on the reef in the spring of 2012.”

Nick Behunin, Managing Director of ASR Ltd, said; “We have always said that the Boscombe reef is an important project for us and one in which we have taken great measures to support the community.  Given that autumn is now firmly upon us it is our priority to focus immediate works to prepare the reef for winter weather.”
