The Centre for Workforce Intelligence (CfWI), the national authority on workforce planning and development for the health and social care sector, has relocated seven of its staff to Bournemouth.
The CfWI provides an easily accessible route for health and social care planners, clinicians and commissioners seeking workforce planning and development intelligence, in order to improve health and social care services. It works to support long-term and strategic scenario planning for the whole of the health and social care workforce, based on research, evidence and analysis.
The CfWI contract was awarded to Mouchel in 2010 by the Department of Health for a five year period.
The CfWI chief executive Peter Sharp said: “The CfWI works closely with local authorities and social care providers, as well as the NHS to inform key decisions on skill mix, training places and operations models which will impact on whether the workforce of the future is able to manage the key challenges of our changing society.
“The opportunity to relocate some of our key staff alongside local authority colleagues in Bournemouth is a great opportunity for us to forge stronger links with those who understand the impact a highly skilled and experienced workforce can have on people’s lives.”
Cllr John Beesley, Leader of Bournemouth Council, said: “We very much welcome the Centre for Workforce Intelligence to Bournemouth. Relocating these skilled roles to Bournemouth has been made possible through the partnership between the Council and Mouchel, with the CfWI staff occupying rented office space within the Town Hall. Together, we are committed to creating more employment opportunities locally, and this is an excellent example of a sector that has the potential to grow, with numerous changes in public health underway and set to continue.”
The CfWI staff relocating to Bournemouth have transferred from Winchester, and include analysts working on both healthcare and social care projects, as well as the chief executive and head of communications. The Centre for Workforce Intelligence will also retain a base at the Mouchel offices in Blackfriars, London.
