The Communities and Local Government department (CLG) issued the ‘English Indices of Deprivation 2010’ in March 2011. The Indices have been constructed by the Social Disadvantage Research Centre at the University of Oxford for the ODPM.
The research and information team has produced an Instant Atlas report| of the Indices of deprivation.
This index| was based on the approach, structure and methodology that was used to create the previous indices in 2004 and 2007. There are seven domains and eight sub-domains:

Where possible, the information used for the indicators relate to 2008 and the rankings for the domains and sub-domains are produced at the Lower Layer Super Output Area level (LSOA).
