The following forms can be used for an application for approval under Building Regulations (please print the form that applies and send it in to the Building Control department)
For a Full Plans application, drawings showing full details of a building project are submitted for a detailed appraisal. Once the plans show compliance with Building Regulations, an approval certificate is issued. Building strictly in accordance with the approved plans gives the reassurance that the work will satisfy the Regulations. Minor variations in construction can be agreed as work proceeds.
A Building Notice application is normally used for simple work and does not generally require the submission of detailed plans. The procedure cannot be used for work to buildings defined in the Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations or a building designated under the Fire Precautions Act. Greater emphasis is placed on site control and it is essential that the person undertaking the work is conversant with Building Regulations and good practice.
If you need any advice as to which type of application is appropriate, please contact one of the Building Control Officers|
A statutory charge is payable for building control work which includes the issue of a completion certificate when work is finished. For more details see Building Regulation Charges|.
