Bournemouth Borough Council has produced a Conservation Area Appraisal for the Churchill Gardens area which was adopted on 10 December 2013 following a period of public consultation.
The appraisal sets out the Council’s definition of the special interest of the Churchill Gardens Conservation Area and includes an extension to the boundary of the conservation area to include numbers 26 and 28 Walpole Road. The appraisal will be used as a basis for planning decisions, appeal statements and conservation advice. The Appraisal also supports the wider regeneration work in Boscombe.

You can also view copies of the Conservation Area Appraisal at the Bournemouth Borough Council Customer Services Centre between the following hours: 9.00am - 4.30pm Monday to Thursday, or 9.00am - 4.00pm Friday.
The Conservation Area Appraisal provides a basis for identifying aspects of the area that would benefit from the implementation of separate management proposals as identified in Chapter 12 of the appraisal.
The Council intends to prepare a Management Plan in 2014 as the next stage of work for Churchill Gardens and to further support the wider regeneration projects for Boscombe. The Management Plan will also undergo public consultation.
The Council produced a Character Study for the Churchill Gardens Conservation Area in July 1999. This has been superseded by the adoption of the Churchill Gardens Conservation Area Appraisal (see above).
