Bournemouth Borough Council has produced a Conservation Area Appraisal for the Portchester Road Conservation Area. This document was adopted on 21 February 2007.
The Appraisal sets out the Council’s definition of the special interest of the Portchester Road Conservation Area. It will be used as a basis for planning decisions, appeal statements and conservation advice.
If you would like to purchase a copy of the Adopted Appraisal or have any queries regarding this matter please contact a member of Customer Services, Planning & Transport, Town Hall Annexe, St Stephens Road, Bournemouth, BH2 6EA (01202 451323) or email@example.com|
Understanding the character and appearance of the conservation area is clearly the starting point when making decisions about its management. Now that an Appraisal has been undertaken the conservation section will be in a position to identify whether there are any areas which would benefit from the implementation of a management/enhancement scheme. Any such proposals will be the subject of a separate document which will also be subject to a period of public consultation.
Conservation Orders are formal certificates which confirm the designation of a conservation area. A map of the conservation area is also attached which shows the area covered by the designation.
Conservation Orders can be obtained from planning reception.
