Local Land Charges

The Local Land Charges section within Democratic Services is responsible for maintaining the Local Land Charges Register and processing local searches normally submitted by solicitors as an essential part of property transactions. 

Search fees as from 1st September 2012:

Please note: when submitting a request for a full local search you need to include forms LLC1 and Con 29 in duplicate, together with a plan of the property.

• We are able to return all search replies by email. Please indicate when submitting a search if you would prefer to receive your reply by email or contact the office on 01202 451119 for further infomation.
• We are at National Land Information Service (NLIS) Level 3, which enables you to request and receive search results on-line.

The Local Land Charges reception is located at the St Stephen’s Road entrance to the main town hall complex. The office is open from 9.00am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 9.00am to 4.00pm on Friday.
