What is The Bournemouth Plan : Core Strategy?


The Bournemouth Plan is the name of Bournemouth Borough Council’s Core Strategy. It forms a part of the Local Development Framework, which will in time replace the Local Plan, it will:
  • Set an overall vision setting out how Bournemouth should develop in the future
  • Set objectives and policies for Bournemouth
  • Put a delivery strategy in place to achieve the objectives
  • Show how the delivery of the strategy will be managed and monitored

 

When will the Bournemouth Plan be adopted?

 

The Bournemouth Plan (Core Strategy) has to be prepared in line with the guidance set out by the Government.  Our timetable, as set out in the Local Development Scheme, has four main stages:

It is intended that the Core Strategy will be adopted by Summer 2012.

 

 

National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF)

 

The Government has recently published the National Planning Policy Framework and Planning Policy for Traveller Sites.

If you wish to make representations on the matters raised in these documents as far as they relate to the Bournemouth Core Strategy / Town Centre AAP examination, please respond to the Programme Officer by 27 April 2012.

Submission to Secretary of State.
13 - 16 March 2012
Public Examination
June / July 2012
