The Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 requires local planning authorities to prepare an annual monitoring report to the Secretary of State containing information on the implementation of the local development scheme (LDS) and the extent to which the policies set out in local development documents (LDDs) are being achieved. PPS 12 ‘Local Development Frameworks’, ODPM, September 2004, sets out the key policy requirements in terms of Local Development Framework monitoring and annual monitoring reports.
Annual monitoring reports have been published since April 2004 (reporting year 2004-05). Copies of the individual reports can be viewed here.
Dorset County Council, on behalf of Bournemouth Borough Council and the Borough of Poole Council, prepares an annual monitoring report on minerals and waste matters. These reports can be viewed on the County Council's website|.
A monitoring report covering Bournemouth, Dorset and Poole is prepared by the three strategic authorities (Bournemouth Borough Council, Dorset County Council and the Borough of Poole Council). The national core output indicators are reported for the two unitaries and six districts. The current report for 2008/09 can be viewed on the County Council's website|.
