Local Development Scheme

The Local Development Scheme (LDS) sets out the Local Planning Authority's programme for the management of its Local Development Framework (LDF). It is a public statement identifying which Local Development Documents (LDDs) will be produced and when.

 

There are two main objectives:

• It is the starting point for the community and stakeholders to find out more about which planning policies will apply to a particular place or issue and the status of those policies; and
• It outlines the details of and timetable for the production of LDDs.

The last full LDS was published in March 2009. Since the LDS was published the timetable for the LDF documents has been amended. In January 2011 it was agreed through the Local Development Framework Steering Group that the timetable changed. The new dates, covering the period until 2013, are:

 

The Bournemouth Plan Core Strategy:

• Pre-submission Consultation - August / October 2011
• Submission to Secretary of State - November 2011
• Estimated date of adoption - July 2012

Bournemouth Town Centre Area Action Plan:

• Pre-submission Consultation - August / October 2011
• Submission to Secretary of State - November 2011
• Estimated date of adoption - July 2012

Dorset Wide Gypsy and Traveller (including Travelling Showpeople) Site Allocation Joint DPD:

• Issues and Preferred Options Consultation - November 2011 / February 2012
  
• Publication of DPD - July 2012
• Submission to Secratary of State - December 2012

Dorset Heathlands Joint DPD:

• Public Consultation - December 2011
