The Grimm Depths
The Grimm Depths was a Libraries project exploring fairy tales - their origins, development and place in contemporary literature.
It was run under the auspices of the Bournemouth and Poole Cultural Hub. Six Bournemouth schools and four Poole schools were involved in author and illustrator workshops, with media and puppetry artists and the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.
Children from each school produced a section of film based on their version of the story of Snow White.

Hubworld – a spectacular celebration Hubworld was a celebration by all the Bournemouth and Poole Cultural Hub partners of the 3 year project. The event took place at Alum Chine seafront, Bournemouth in June 2008.
Each partner organisation participating in the Cultural Hub organised a Hubhut. Artist Luci Gorell Barnes was commissioned by Bournemouth Borough Council Arts Development to invite beach visitors to contribute images or words about the sea and beaches. These were then placed around the wall during the two days.
Luci said, ‘ It was a pleasure to work on the beach in sight of the sea. People made lovely contributions including memories from childhood holidays, poems about the sea and beautiful drawings. Our hut was transformed by them at the end of the 2 days.’
