wave arts education agency provides a source for inspiration and creativity between the arts and education communities in Bournemouth & Poole
 
Working to promote and assist in the development of plans and projects that provide young people with increased and regular access to high quality arts experiences, wave provides training, networks, information and advice in the delivery of the arts in informal and formal settings. In partnership with teachers, governors, artists, practitioners, local authority staff, and arts and cultural staff, our aim is to make a distinctive contribution to the enjoyment, confidence, skills and emotional well being of children and young people.
 
Existing as a partnership agency, wave is supported by the Arts Council England South West, Bournemouth Borough Council, Borough of Poole, and Bournemouth and Poole Arts Development Units. wave is also part of the Arts Education Partnership- made up of nine Arts Education Agencies across the South West Region, which work closely to share good practice and build a regional case for arts education.  A regional website for this network has been created - see it at www.artsedsw.org.uk
 
wave arts education agency helps to deliver a range of regional and national schemes and initiatives, including : Artsmark, Young People's Arts Awards, Creative Partnerships, BSF, LOtC and Cultural Olympiad. wave also facilitated the major Cultural Hub programme in Bournemouth and Poole, in connection with the Arts Council of England, the Museums, Libraries & Archives Council and the Department of Culture, Media and Sport. The Cultural Hub partnership has continued self-funded by the schools and arts/cultural organisations involved.

wave is also a part of the MAPS team (Music, Arts, PE, Sports), ‘bringing learning to life’ for schools in Bournemouth and Poole.
