Be Inspired A day of special music-making for adults with the BSO at Bournemouth Pavilion.
Do you have a musical instrument hidden in the attic? Would you like the chance to play again? If so, why not brush away the dust and re-live live music by coming along for a music-making day playing beside members of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, finishing with a performance to family and friends.
This project is organised by the BSO and Bournemouth Borough Council Arts Development and is open to adults over 25 who live in Bournemouth and the surrounding area. Players who have reached Grade V or above will find the day most rewarding – however anyone of any standard is welcome.
During the first part of the day you’ll be professionally coached by BSO musicians who’ll guide you into a concert performance which will be conducted by Matthew Wood the BSO’s Young Conductor in Association.
The music chosen for the day are the two colourful and varied suites from Bizet’s opera Carmen and, if time permits, Tchaikovsky’s rousing Marche Slave.
Price for the day is £10, Bournemouth residents have priority booking until 31 December 2008.
For further details contact Linda Higson, Education and Community Co-ordinator, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, 2 Seldown Lane, Poole BH15 1UF. Tel 01202 644707 or lhigson@bsorchestra.co.uk

Public value and the arts in England - ACE Report
'Public value and the arts in England' is the name given to the report which details the findings of the arts debate, the Arts Council's first-ever public value inquiry.
Over the last year, hundreds of people from all over England have contributed to the debate in interviews, group discussions and events. While some contributors were already active participants in the arts, many others rarely or never attended an arts event.
