Bournemouth has number of Neighbourhood Workers who work in different areas of Bournemouth to try and tackle issues that are of concern to local residents. Additionally the neighbourhood workers liaise with organisations who can make a difference to the area, for example, Housing Associations and Police.
The areas that currently have neighbourhood workers are:
- Keeble, East Howe and Oakmead Gardens
- Townsend and Luckham Road area
- West Howe
- West Southbourne
- Winton and Moordown
Keeble, East Howe and Oakmead Gardens
The Neighbourhood Worker for Keeble, East Howe and Oakmead Gardens is Sandi Stockdale. Sandi has recently started working in Oakmead Gardens and is trying to organise a residents group in the area. West Howe
Martha Blackburn is the Neighbourhood Worker for West Howe. Her post is funded by 'Fairshare' a lottery programme which exists to support underfunded areas allowing local residents and voluntary organisations to work with others to build on the skills and opportunities in the area.
