Customer Service Centre
The ‘Ask Bournemouth’ Customer Service Centre has been created to improve the accessibility and availability of services, especially in areas like Boscombe, which is the target of key regeneration investment.
The official launch of the first ‘Ask Bournemouth’ Customer Service Centre branch coincided with the opening of the new Boscombe Library on Thursday 10th May 2007, as the Library is currently housing the service. Come along and ‘Ask Bournemouth’ your enquiries face-to-face, maybe you’ve moved house and need to let the relevant services know, like council tax and the Local Education Authority.
‘Ask Bournemouth’ for your free access to the Council's website via computers within the customer service centre, you can find all the relevant information you need, maybe searching for a job application or to pay a parking fine online.
‘Ask Bournemouth’ to make a phone call for you - we will. There are two telephones for your use, they are free of charge and have a quick dial facility direct to ten council departments. If you’re having trouble with filling in a form or understanding a council letter - we can help. Whatever you want to know about the Council, however small – we can help.
During the search for the ideal location for the Boscombe Customer Service Centre Melanie Hilbourne, an ‘Ask Bournemouth’ Customer Service Advisor was located within the Neighbourhood Management Office in Sea Road.
Melanie said, “I have spent the last 18 months working from the Neighbourhood Management office and have enjoyed meeting many different customers, some of whom have come to see me about various Council and non Council issues.
I am sorry to be leaving the NM offices but am looking forward to working again with my colleague Lisa and some new Customer Service Advisors in the lovely, all glass fronted, Boscombe Library.
We will continue to deliver the same confidential support and advice for Bournemouth residents and I hope that my present customers will pop by and see me in our new home.”
