What to expect from the Customer Service Centre

  • You may need to speak with someone face-to-face about a query, maybe you’ve moved house and need to let the relevant services know, like council tax and the Local Education Authority.  You’ll be seated with a customer service advisor either immediately or you may have a short wait until an advisor is available.
  • You could ‘self-serve’, via free access to the Council’s website on the selection of computer stations available.  Find all the relevant information you need there, maybe make a job application or pay a parking fine online.  But if you’ve had trouble with computers or need help there will be someone there to help you through the website.  They’ll give you the relevant, on the spot training, so you can do it for yourself next time from home, the library or with friends.
  • If you do need to wait, you’ll be able to seat yourself in comfortable surroundings, pick up a copy of BH Life or one of the several leaflets available to read.
  • Don’t worry if you have children with you – there will be a kiddies play area where you can keep an eye on your little ones from the seating area.  Your child can play there safely until you’re finished – or they can sit with you in the waiting area or with you when you are seeing the customer service adviser.
  • There will be full access for anyone with a disability.  We’ll make sure you don’t receive a service that’s different to anyone else.
  • If your enquiry is of a sensitive nature or you’d like a bit more privacy when talking with a customer service advisor - don’t worry we’ll provide you with a private meeting room when one is available.
  • You can telephone the Council Team relevant to your enquiry directly and FREE of charge from a pre programmed telephone situated in the Customer Service Centre.  Ask an advisor to show you where the telephone is and how to dial directly.

Whatever your enquiry, if an answer isn’t immediately available we’ll follow the enquiry to ensure you get the answer you need

If you’re having trouble with filling in a form or understanding a council letter - we can help.

If we need to make a phone call for you - we will.

Whatever you want to know about the Council, however small – we can help.

Let us do the work for you and with you.
