Adopted Exeter Road Area Design and Development Strategy
There is significant pressure for development in the Exeter Road and Bath Road area of the Town Centre.
In order to ensure that the developments are considered comprehensively to achieve an area that will be an asset to the town, the Council appointed regeneration consultants, Urban Practitioners in order to carry out an urban design and transport study for the area. They brought as part of their team architects, urban designers, transport specialists and property consultants. They have worked closely with officers from Planning and Transport as well as with external owners and bodies.
The product of the work has been the production of the ‘Adopted Exeter Road Design and Development Strategy’ - see below. The ‘Exeter Road Area Design & Development Strategy’ looks at the existing character and use of the area and from this develops a vision for its future. Consultation on the Strategy was carried out in May and June 2006. It was adopted on the 25th July 2006.
