Four computers are 'Fast Track' PCs that, when free, you can log into directly using your library card number & PIN and use for 15 minutes. These are on the first floor.
Most of the other computers require advance booking:
-
Some of the computers can only be booked on the same day (PCs 1 - 12 on the first and second floors). This is because of high demand. You should phone or make your booking in the library as early as you can after Bournemouth Library opens on the day to ensure you can book one of these.
-
Some computers can be booked up to one week in advance (PCs 13 - 20 on the first floor).
There are also three computers for teenagers (under 18 years old) and three computers for children (2 - 13 years old) which can be booked a week in advance. A computer for scanning and/or saving to CD-ROM can also be booked a week in advance.
-
To book these computers, either come into Bournemouth Library and use one of the designated terminals to make your booking, or phone Bournemouth Library staff on 454848.
There are a few computers set aside for specific uses that can only be booked through library staff:
-
a second PC for scanning and/or saving to CD-ROM.
-
2 for using the library's online and CD-ROM reference and learning resources.
-
2 for local studies and family history research on the second floor.
-
1 for very young children (Early Years PC) with an easy-to-use keyboard and trackball mouse.
-
Contact staff at the Ask Here desk or Heritage desk (for local studies and family history PCs) to book these. Ask Here phone 01202 454842. Heritage phone 01202 454844.
