What sort of toys are available?
- Baby toys – activity centres, playmats
- Construction toys – baby lego, stickle bricks
- Activity toys – baby walkers, sit’n’rides
- Imaginative toys – garages, train sets, cooking playsets
How can children borrow toys from a Toy Library?
- Be under five years old
- Join the Library - this is free.
- Join the Toy Library and borrow toys at one of the Toy Library sessions - toys can also be returned and chosen from the Toy Library catalogue at any time the Library is open.
How to Join the Library
- See Joining the Library. Remember to bring something with the child's parent/carer's name and address on it (eg. utilities bill).
- Sign an agreement to help take care of the toys that your child borrows.

How long can the toys be kept?
Toys, like books, are issued for three weeks and can usually be renewed.
How many toys can be borrowed?
Three toys can be borrowed - this is in addition to the regular children's card allowance of 12 books.
- A variety of good quality toys for use at home
- A chance to see and try out different toys
- Help in selecting toys for your child’s stage of development
- A friendly meeting place for parents, carers and children.
- Stay and play - with stories, rhymes and songs
