You are Here: Living / Libraries / Joining & Borrowing / Joining & Borrowing
Joining your library is easy

Membership is free and open to anyone who lives, works or studies in Bournemouth.

To join, simply fill in an application card, available at any library. Please note that proof of identity and permanent address (a driving licence, bank statement or other official documentation is acceptable) will be needed to borrow DVDs, CDs and audiobooks.

If you are fifteen years old or under, we will need your parent or guardian to sign your membership card application form.

You will be given a membership card and pin number, which you will need whenever you wish to use the computers or borrow items.  Your library card is not transferable.  All items issued on your card are your responsibility.

You may use any of our twelve Bournemouth Libraries, and items do not have to be returned to the library they were borrowed from (except Top Title DVDs).

Find your nearest library.

All libraries have different opening times. For an overview look at Library opening times and contact details.

Borrowing and Charges has information on how many items you can borrow, of what types and for how long, returning items and also any charges for borrowing or returning items late.
