Computer Adaptive Technology

All Bournemouth Libraries have computing facilities for people with disabilities.This type of technology is called Adaptive Technology. Our Adaptive Technology includes:
  • Large keyboards with easy-to-see letters
  • Large rollerball mice

 

  • ZoomText - this is a piece of software that magnifies the screen and allows you to customise the screen to suit your requirements
  • JAWS - this is text to speech software which reads the text on the screen through headphones to you
  • Widgit - this is software for writing with symbols, which aids reading and writing
