What is the project all about?

Kinson Library and Kinson Neighbourhood Office are at the heart of the local community. However, opportunities in the existing buildings are restricted by their age and design.

This project will demolish the existing library building and build a new two-storey multi-use library, housing and information centre.  The neighbourhood office will move into the new centre.  The replacement building will increase the floor space to allow delivery and development of services for, and by, the local community.

The Big Lottery Fund has awarded the Council £1.84 million for the project and the Council's Housing Landlord Service is supporting the scheme through £800,000 of funding for a dedicated housing office as part of the new development.

North Bournemouth residents will benefit from further funding of almost £1/2 million for the new Kinson Library, Housing and Information Centre.

The Council Cabinet has approved funding to carry out additional work to the new building to provide more space for extra facilities and services on the first floor.
