2007
In March 2007, eight Bournemouth libraries (Charminster, Ensbury Park, Southbourne, Springbourne, Tuckton, West Howe, Westbourne and Winton) achieved Matrix Standard accreditation.
The other four Bournemouth libraries (Boscombe, Bournemouth, Kinson and Strouden) gained re-accreditation so now all Bournemouth Libraries are accredited by Matrix.
The Matrix Standard is a national Quality Mark for organisations that deliver information, advice and/or guidance on learning and work. It is valid for three years.
The Matrix Standard inspection involved rigorous testing of the quality of library staff skills and information resources by an external assessor, who visited a number of libraries over four days.
Customers also helped to assess the service and gave feedback to the assessor. We are very grateful to our customers who so generously gave their time to talk to the external assessor.
Gaining Matrix accreditation is a great achievement for the Library Service.
2005
In March 2005, four Bournemouth libraries (Boscombe, Bournemouth, Kinson and Strouden) were put forward for and reached the standard for Matrix accreditation.
