Building Control also has the responsibility for dealing with the following matters:

Control of demolition sites
- Fire safety and means of escape in existing buildings
- Technical advice relating to licensing of theatres, cinemas and places of entertainment
- Safety at sports grounds
- Dangerous buildings and structures - a 24 hour call out service is operated
- Access and facilities for the disabled (Access Surveyor)
