Planning Application Fees

Increases to the planning application fees came into effect on 6th April 2008.

View current scale of fees (36kb PDF) for planning applications.

If you require further advice about planning application fees and exemptions, or wish to pay the fee for an application you intend to submit using a debit or credit card you can contact Planning & Transport’s Customer Services on telephone number 01202 451323 or 01202 451325 or send an email to planning@bournemouth.gov.uk

Please Note:

  • Planning applications are not valid for registration until all the required drawings and documents including the application fee have been received.
  • If you consider that an application that you are submitting is exempt from a fee you should enclose a covering letter of explanation with your submission.
  • In the event that payment by cheque is stopped or dishonoured by the bank, processing of that application will stop and the statutory time period of 8 or 13 weeks will recommence once payment of the fee is received

Further guidance about these fees can be found in the following publication Communities and Local Government Circular 04/2008 Planning-Related Fees ISBN 978 0 11 753993 8  which is published by TSO (The Stationery Office) .

The relevant Statutory Instrument is 2008 No.958 which is also available from TSO. These publications can be obtained, at a cost, from TSO:
