Data Protection Act

The Planning Application Register is a public register, which the Council is obliged by law to make available for public inspection.

Please note that application forms, plans and supporting material will be published on the Internet. Similarly representations about planning applications will also be published. In doing so the Council's Planning Service will endeavour to comply with the Data Protection Act. This will entail the non-publication of telephone numbers and email addresses of applicants and those making representations about planning applications, as well as all forms of signature. Data published in relation to enforcement complaints will not contain any personal information.

In view of the Council’s intention to publish information to its website you should ensure that your communications with the Council do not contain any unlawful, defamatory, obscene or offensive material.

Copyright Notice

Plans, drawings and materials submitted to the Council are protected by the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 (Section 47). You may only use material which is downloaded and/or printed for consultation purposes, to compare current applications with previous schemes and to check whether developments have been completed in accordance with approved plans. Further copies must not be made without the prior permission of the copyright owner (the applicant/agent/architect), otherwise you will be in breach of copyright. However, you may make copies of the decision notice provided the copies are not altered in any way.
